PAUL REED SMITH 513
Paul Reed Smith 513
Paul Reed Smith 513 - The PRS 513 electric guitar in mahogany with maple top is an updated version of the original PRS 513 rosewood model. The guitar features a mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, updated electronics, and includes a patented pickup system providing 13 modern and vintage sounds using five proprietary single coil pickups. (The name "513" stands for 5 pickups and 13 sounds.)
Several ingredients combine to make the 513 the most versatile instrument that PRS has ever made: a 25-1/4" scale; special neck joint; unique 513 bird inlays; and an easy to use integrated electronics control package. The electronics section includes a volume control, tone control, and two blade switches. One blade switch is a 5-way pickup selector, and the other is a 3-way mode switch that allows you to select between single coil, clear humbucking and heavy humbucking modes. This allows the 513 to go from screaming humbuckers to sparkling single coils with the flick of the 3-way switch. It's so unique that PRS has at least three US patents (that we know of) that protect the design!
