Default PRS West Street Std - worth the cash?

Hey yíall, been a while since Iíve been on VR - apologies there...

Iíve always liked the looks of the core PRS Santana models but have never pulled the trigger on one. Anyway, thereís a full mahogany West Street Standard on the market locally for what looks like a decent price (asking $2800, could hopefully get it for less).

What are your thoughts on these? Are they worth it at this price range over, letís say, a Santana III? I previously owned and liked a Standard 24, so the idea of full mahogany is fine with me...

    Thanks!

Seems like bargaining down from $2800 is in the ballpark.

I love the rich tone of all mahogany (I have a SE std satin cherry, replaced the PUPs with artist bridge and vintage neck).

I have a Santana MD (maple 10 top) and I tend to play the MD-enabled clean/spank tones. Neck feels great, along with the medium/jumbo fret wire, although I don't bother with the upper frets (24 fret / 24.5 scale gets too skinny up there and I have long fingers).

I have been told that West Streets usually go for 3-4K so that seems like a nice price

I thought that’s usually for the Limited. Not sure what the usual offer range is for a Standard.

Totally different animal from a Standard 24. Shorter scale, more frets clear, different weight distribution.

Nice job Tim! I needed them to get a bit lower on the price of that one before I was willing to bite. I was also not a fan of those Echopark pups that were in it. Glad you got it tho. I wound up going with a sweet Santana III once I decided to pass on the Westie.

Lemme know if and when you ever decide to move it - maybe we can work out another trade...

LOVING IT! As I said before, I wanted a legit Santana type for a long time and it does NOT disappoint.
